Good morning! 9:18, 11 degrees on this Friday. Nice and rested, with seven hours and change of shuteye. The past two days, I've been working with less- more like 5 or 6- and I can really feel the difference. The world is still as crazy as ever, but somehow a more hospitable place on adequate sleep.
Anyway! Today is our last shitty cold day. maybe for the whole Winter unless March wants to take a swipe of us one last time. After a week of hibernation, this Oso is getting the itch to get out of the house.
Music news. And yes, I have some. I've been working away in the Music Lab for the past couple days, and have new stuff. One is based on the chord changes to Sweet Georgia Brown. Most of the parts are done, including solos on guitar and keyboard.
Another is an old tune that's been sitting in my "songbook" for way too long, another swing tune. It's called New York Minute. A bright but not breakneck tempo. So far I have drums, bass and a melody line played on keyboard- a nice Hammond organ patch. Lots to do today.
When I get a little more material, I'll be sharing- both here on the site and on Facebook. I like to have a good number of things- 6 or 7- before I go through all the remixing. It's sometimes maddening trying to get things just right in the mix, but I suppose that's the grotty side of it. All things have their grotty side...
My YouTube page is now up to 115 subscribers. When you hit 1000, they start paying you. At least that's the word on the street. I don't think I'll ever hit four figures, but I'm grateful for what I have. 115 strong! This has also been a good period for woodshedding on the guitar, and I have more than enough to share. Way more. The stuff grows like kudzu on my page. Always have to trim it back...

PS Today's pic was taken sometime in 1985 or '86. My road years. We travelled in an old School Bus(shades of the Partridge Family!) I was in my own world, with the headphones on. The only way to travel. I was 31 years old.
PPS Today's tune goes back to 1986. The title comes from a dream I had where I gave my brother a Board Game for Christmas called Jewish Insurance. Solos on guitar and keys, and a trumpet solo by David Hoffman. It's not on any of my CDs, so no plug this time. Hope you like the sounds.
