Good morning! 9:47, 35 degrees on this Friday, a bit nippier but still above freezing. Last day of the workweek. 48 hours of freedom. We sure live for our weekends, don't we? Down to that first hour of freedom, referring to it as Happy Hour. My wish for humanity is that everyone who wants to gets a chance to retire. Even in These Trying Times, it ain't bad..
Music news. I got started on something yesterday, here in the Music Lab. Sometimes I like to start from scratch, and that was the case yesterday. What you end up with is often quite different from what you started with. All those creative twists and turns.. I've now got something which is more in the manner of a Hootenanny. Or maybe Dixieland. 3 different melodic lines all improvising on each other, with a percussion track added in.
And I've got a collection of electronic works ready to go. Working title is Twelve Twisted Tales of 2020. Sharing the first piece here this morning. It's called Greta the Lion Tamer. Trust me, you'll hear it. Twelve pieces in all. Total time is 26:20, so they're short pieces. I've learned my lesson here: keep the weirdo stuff short and sweet.
Some of the titles--Orange Mussolini and Tyranny in Toyland-are reflective of the past year, but most are neutral in that regard. I originally had the word dittohead in one of my titles, but decided against it. Cranial iteration has a nicer ring to it. Coming soon.
I should have something to put up on YouTube as well. Trying to keep those waters well-stocked. Anything that doesn't end up in the circular file I share.
