Good morning! It's Friday, around 9:30. Cindy and I are at our Battle Stations for the morning. Me in front of the computer and her in the chair next to me. She's facing away from me, which means petting is allowed but not required, If she were facing me, it would mean drop whatever I'm doing and tend to her petting needs. Priority One. It's all in the body english..
Music news. Rustlin' up a whole mess of new grub here in the Music Lab. Just recorded a minor blues in a quick 3/4 tempo- a bit like Wayne Shorter's Footprints. My keyboard chops are starting to get better again. The guitar needs a little work though. Tough to keep everything up. I'm not on one of my creative rolls- I love my home studio binges- but having some success lately.
It will be a little while before I can upload stuff to the computer. Jenius-boy here got a DVD stuck in there. YouTube provided two quick fixes: one to program from the computer itself, and the other using a paper clip to open it manually. The first didn't work and the second couldn't work- no hole for the paper clip to go in.
So it goes back to the shop for at least a couple days. The tray always took many many tries to get open, meaning that the drive itself is bad or needs adjusting. I'll be without a computer for a little while- got a laptop but always go through Password Hell getting it set up-- but when I get it back it'll work that much better. Something that needed fixing anyway. My getting something stuck in there, prompting its repair, was actually a blessing in disguise.
And that's the sum total of my news, at least for the time being. Nice to see things coming back. I know there's some live music out at Lime Street tonight and probably tomorrow. Harmony Deep. Never heard them, but I know everybody in that group to some extent, and they're all good. So I'm assured that they'll put on a quality show.
I don't have anything myself but will eventually have a Robbie's date to make up for the one I couldn't do last year. That should be fun. Robbie's is more a social event than anything. I love playing Jeopardy with the regulars at the bar beforehand, and there will be a few folks I haven't seen in all this time. Also, I have new CDs to sell, which I usually do at some sort of discount.
