Good morning! It's around a quarter of ten. I like my time nice and approximate. Another sun n' clouds combo, mostly sun. The members of PWHF(pronounced p/wuf) are not having much fun this time of year. PWHF stands for People Who Hate Fireworks.
Not that they don't have their reasons. Folks with PTSD are jarred by the explosions, and dog owners have their canine buddies barking like crazy and bouncing off the walls, I don't blame them a bit. Just noting that I hear from them every year on Facebook about this time.
I am a cat person, but also love dogs. As a former dog owner, I remember going through this not only every 4th of July, but every time we had a storm. Something's wrong, something's wrong...This is where cats show their stuff. They get a bad rap, but their supreme indifference comes in handy on these occasions. They just sleep through it.
Music Stuff. Nothing outside the house until the 31st. I may have something on the 12th at the Alamo, for Blue Monday. Either July 12th--Julius Caesar's birthday- or August 16th. Steve Martin's birthday. I am still a fount of useless information..
In the meantime, puttering away here in the Music Lab. I got a lot of practice in yesterday. Three different sessions. I like to work in shorter installments rather than one long session. To quote a Beatles song, it stops my mind from wandering- where it will go..
After 54 years of being a guitarist, I'm still trying to get better. Trying to get to that next level as far as fluency- and thankfully, there always seems to be a next level... Some of the people I've been listening to are Adam Rogers, Jonathan Kriesberg, Jostein Gulbrandsen, and Lage Lund.
The way they handle time, how they align themselves to it, is something I'm hearing but am a good way away from mastering. It's like the time is this vast canvas rather than x number of bars or beats. Long spaces, maybe a murmur and then a torrent of notes. I'll tell ya, it's a lot tougher to leave space like this. But very- liberating..
So that's my news for you for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I do appreciate it! Happy Friday to you. For now, ich bin outa here. More later.
PS Today's pic was taken sometime in 2020. Aliens looking to re-fuel their ship and get back to their home planet Zecron 3. Yes I need new music pix! Today's tune is called Cleopatra XXX. My ex-wife(while she was my wife)gave me this title.I guess she thought my music sounded like a porno soundtrack..
