Good morning! It's Friday, just after 10. Delighted to see my keyboard working this morning. No pesky extra letters or characters. Always a good way to start the day: with one less irritation.. Can't help but think of the Monty Python routine: we interrupt this program for three reasons. 1)to irritate you....
I hear my neighbor's dogs out there this morning. All miniature breeds so the barking is very high-pitched. Sometimes it really reaches a frenzy with all of them yapping at the same time. After years of living next door, I'm impervious to it. One of the few things in life that just rolls off my back.
We've been neighbors for over 20 years. I've seen two of their kids come into the world since living next door to them. I often feel like they and I are an old married couple whom nobody else would put up with, between their dogs and my guitars.
Music news. I miss my old niche, doing the Nursing/Assisted Living facilities. They were always just an hour, and always mid-afternoon. Perfect for someone who's retired in most senses of the word but still loves to play. Plus, it's a good thing for the oldsters. Makes 'em happy.
I have three things coming up, all of which are on my website, under Shows. Feeling too lazy to write 'em out again.. Some folks probably have their gigs scheduled for the rest of the year, but I like to take much smaller bites.
What works best for me is to alternate busy periods with slow ones. So I have three things coming up, after which time I'll probably retreat back here to the Lab. Recharge these introvert batteries, and re-emerge when I've gotten my second wind.
Anyway! Still kickin' it here in the Music Lab. Today promises to be a good day with the guitar. As usual, whatever works I share. So, thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I do appreciate it! For now, i'm outa this place. More later.
