Geezerhood(get off my lawn!)

Good morning! It's a nice sunny day goin' on, and also my birthday! 67 years young. I figure geezerhood to have started at age 60, and every year I seem to get a little bit deeper into it. A little more curmudgeonly, more get-off-my-lawn, with each passing year.

I liked the Dirty Harry movies, a few of the spaghetti westerns, and even the two made with Clyde the Ape(marketing genius IMHO), but Clint Eastwood's best stuff was made in his advancing age. Million Dollar Baby. Gran Torino. And a prison movie or two I can't recall. His geezer period.

This somehow gives me hope, now that I'm an aging musician, now in my geezer period. Maybe, just maybe, my best work is still ahead of me.. Not as busy outside the house as I've been in years past, but still in there pitching. The desire to make music, is just as strong as it ever was. Likewise the desire to share it.

You can retire from a job, but as far as music(or whatever your art is), it stays with you. Actually I think that your art picks you from the beginning. That bug that can't quite let you go.. Well there are certainly worse imprisonments...

Enough chatter from me. I'm planning on making this a music day, so I will be making some noise today. If it's good noise I'll be glad to share with you. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I do appreciate it! For now, ich bin outa here. More later.

PS Today's pic is a birthday card I got recently. They get scarier every year...
