The birthday cake is from my Dentist's office, left over from someone else's party. I'm not proud. Cake is cake.
You'd almost think, if you were of that bent, that a Dentist's office giving out something as sugar-laden as this would be drumming up future business.
I ascribed no such nefarious intent to them, and happily wolfed down my treat. Sometimes you gotta break with tradition- even if it's just a damn cupcake!
Anyway! It's Thursday, about ten minutes after eleven I must've needed the sleep. Lights out just shy of one, woke up at ten-thirty. Nine and a half hours of sleep! I seem to need about seven to function, so this is definitely some luxury sleep..
Music news. Well let's see if I can make some. It's just been too damn hot to get into much of anything here in the Lab. It's the one room in my house that doesn't have central air, just a funky window unit. It's easier to heat it in the Winter than it is to cool it in the Summer. But I'm still putting in some daily time on the gitbox.
I have three more things on the books, as far as gigs. The next one is supposed to be Monday August 16th, at The Alamo, 7 to 10. No confirmation on it as yet, but I figure I'll get a call sometime between now and then.
Next up is a one-hour thing on the south side of the Square on August 31st, noon to one. And then a trio date at Anchors Away on Friday September 3rd, 8 to 10.
Working on some new stuff as far as recordings. Actually, I'm just about always working on some new stuff. That's pretty much a given with me. But more to come. I have 40 albums up on CD Baby, which means they're up everyplace else. That's a lot, but then I've been at this for a good while.
Not as many CD sales and downloads as I've enjoyed in the past, but still a more or less steady stream of streams. Just made a whopping $1.67 in streams from Spotify. Folks, it doesn't get much better than this. Unfortunately...
