Good morning! It's 9:39 at the moment. I'm sorry, it's 9:40. Different moment. No, wait.. This just may turn out to be one of those posts I don t share to Facebook.
This is the second day in a row being behind the 8-ball. That's my way of saying I didn't get enough sleep last night or the night before. I'm still movin' and groovin' here, just a bit crispy around the edges. This is where coffee does its magic. I limit myself to one pot no matter what my condition might be in the morning. Still a good three cups and change. Enough fuel for the day.
There is actually an upside to all this. The house seems to get cleaned more on these 8-ball days, all the stuff I'd been putting off. And when you do get your sleep back on, you feel wonderful. The wonderful feeling is by contrast of course, but sometimes almost worth it..
The News Musicale. A one-hour job this coming Tuesday downtown on the Square, if I don't get rained out. Just a boy and his guitar. I've been playing more songs than usual this week, just getting them back under my fingers. Whatever happens, it's still going to be a lot easier than the gig I did downtown back on July 31st.
I don't much feel like re-living that day, so I won't go into it. Suffice it to say, not one of my better days or gigs. A rainy and confusing day. The only upside was a bit of a reunion with a drummer I hadn't seen in 50 years. Yes, I always try to find an upside to whatever I'm doing.
After August 31st, I have nothing. I did have something at Anchors Away on September 3rd, but they're closed for the time being, at least as far as entertainment. So as the song goes, I got plenty of nuttin.
And actually, nuttin's plenty for me. I've missed making music with other people, but can entertain myself(and hopefully a listener or two) right here in the Lab if need be.. And I do have some more music to share. More to come..
Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I do appreciate it! Outa here for now. More later.
