Good morning, whoever-reads-this! No site visits yesterday. Well, I write it regardless. Part of waking up in the morning. It is now 9:06, and 35 degrees. A cool sunny day. As one local musician I know, one of the two Wisconsin ex-pats, is fond of saying, "Doesn't that frost your ass?"
I once played a gig in Green Bay, Wisconsin. One thing I noticed was that they drink a lot of beer. There was a bar on practically every street corner. I was told that on social occasions, you bring a 6-pack for yourself. Nice place, but too cold for this one. And I don't know if my liver would hold up..
Music news. I just put up a new album on CD Baby! It's called Concert Music, and is also viewable/listenable here on the site. Just go to My Wares. You can even download the first three songs, if you so desire. It's designed to be like a Band Concert, only the stuff is a lot weirder than anything John Philip Sousa would've come up with. Or even Percy Grainger.
There are a few new things on the Music page as well. I always put the newest stuff right at the top of the page. Been trying to organize and clean up my music files--I'm Oscar Madison there, as in most other aspects of my life--, and in the process of so doing, found a whole bunch of stuff I'd forgotten about.
Much like when you clean out a closet or attic and find a ton of things you can't quite throw out.
So at the moment I have more music than I know what to do with. An occupational hazard, I guess. But there are worse fates. As ever, more to come..
And that's my up-to-the-minute news. Still in Studio Mode, though I have been making some jaunts to various people's houses for playing. And I have two such home-gigs coming up. This has been working for me, the mix of home-gigs and time in the studio.
I suppose it's like finding the right medication. But so far so good. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Friday to you! I'm outa this place. More later.
PS Today's pic goes back to 1985. Calgary, Alberta, CANADA. Played in a road band that did its annual thing up north. Our manager, whom we called The Great White Father, lived there. This was probably his place.
