Music News. For once, I've got some. Closing out 2021 with two new recordings. Concert Music just went up yesterday. That link takes you to all the selections. It's basically a Band Concert- well, make that Chamber Orchestra. 25 minutes worth of music. Being that it's listed as classical music, CD Baby made me use my full name.
I've got a couple YouTube pages that were put up on my behalf by CD Baby. Listed under Sam Crain Topic or Sam Crain Trio Topic. All my albums are on one or the other. This new one just says Various Artists.
I feel a little bit like Kilgore Trout, Kurt Vonnegut's monumentally unsuccessful Sci-fi writer whose works were published by a porn company. Only I don't have to go to Times Square to find my stuff...
The other recording of mine is due to open on the 16th. It's also weirdo stuff, but more electronic. Up Through the Up Pipe is its ungainly title. The title tune is a rhythmic motif, to which I thought, involuntarily, of these nonsense syllables. And that's as deep as it gets. Oop Bop Sh'Bam..
Guitar news. I've got a new one to put up on my main YouTube page. Charlie Parker's composition Segment, only with my own melody. For lack of a better name, it's called Portion. It'll be up there today, and also on Facebook. Still shedding most every day..
And finally, I've got yet another album I'm working on. This one is back to what seems to be my style: a sort of smooth/fusion hybrid. Lots of guitar and keyboard antics. Currently in the process of figuring what goes where. Coming sometime next month.
