Good morning! It's 9:17 and 11 degrees on this last day of the workweek. The middle of this year will mark 9 years of retirement. Workweek has become an archaic term, but one I still employ on occasion.
Music and Domestic News. Continuing to hunker down here in the Lab. Building up a new batch of tunes and whatnot. Another mini-hibernation. My neighbor has a new snow-blower and was kind enough to clear a couple of paths for me and my wheels. Much more efficient than a shovel.
I haven't been anyplace since Monday, but am not feeling any kind of cabin fever. Except for clearing snow from my vehicle and starting it up, I'm not planning to go anywhere in it. I'm half tempted just to leave things as they are and let the snow melt by itself on Tuesday. That's lazy, even for me. But still, a possible goal...
Two new recordings this year so far. Sonorities and St Vitus's Dance Card, and they can be found on YouTube and all the streaming platforms, and there's a free download or two on my site. Sonorities is smoother and St Vitus is edgier, but both are designed to entertain in one way or another.
After February, I have one gig a month: 3/16, 4/15 and 5/6. When I first retired, I took anything and everything. At this point, I'm a lot more selective. But the things I do take are things I really want to do, so I'm always glad to be there. That communicates to an audience just as much as what you play. And also to the other musicians on the stand with you.
Well that pretty much wraps it up. The only other item I have for you in the way of news is some stuff on the Music page. My latest binge produced 12 new pieces, and they're all at the top of the page, for your possible enjoyment. For now, time to go. Other morning rituals await.
