Good morning! It's 8:34 and 28 degrees at the moment. A beautiful sunny day that's just gonna get better. For what seems like the longest time, we had shitty days that just got worse.. Arrivederci, Winter!
The only upside was that under my Winter coat, I could wear my People of Wal-Mart clothes: pajama bottoms that look like sweat pants. So the thermal dermis goes back in the drawer, the Winter coat goes back on the rack, and I have to start dressing better if I want to go out. Unless it's to Wal-Mart of course..
Music News. Well I did leave the house a week ago to record some guitar tracks for a friend's home project, but otherwise just kickin' it here at home. Doing a lot of organ trio stuff these days as far as practice material.
It's tricky because you have to play somewhat behind the beat for the best effect. . I tend to play right on top of the beat, so that's where the practice/adjustment comes in. I've worked like a fiend on my time-feel, and I'm happy to say that it's not too shabby- most of the time.. But I still have to work at it, even after 50+ years of playing...
In other music news, making more here in the Lab. The past couple days I've been tunesmithing, and have a couple things to show. Today appears to be another one of those days. And as always, whatever survives goes up on the Music page.
My work here in the Lab sounds boring to describe, but trust me- it's a whole hell of a lot of fun. Imagine having an Orchestra at your fingertips, as well as all kinds of guitar sounds and a host of other-worldly timbres..All this stuff is no substitute for inspiration: but if you're already inspired, you've got a lot to work with.
Strangely enough, in this Baskin-Robbins of a studio, I still go back to Vanilla. Nothing like the sound of a real piano. So even more music outa me in the near future.
