Friday

Good morning! 9:37 and 74 degrees at the moment. Just enjoying the lower temps, rain or not. My music room, from whence I'm writing this, is the only room without Central Air. Easier to warm up than to cool down. It's made it tougher to practice, much less make those videos I like to share.

Sibling news. Thank you for your concerns about my brother. I just spoke with him, and he's still in the thick of it. They're ruling out some things and finding others. No COPD, but there is Cirrhosis. And then there's the ticker. It's a puzzle they're still working out.

Our Dad died of Lung Cancer- specifically, Small Cell Carcinoma. As they were running him through a battery of tests, he made a comment to me that was classic gallows humor: well son, my Liver's just fine!

I was amazed that so many people read my blog on Monday. Usually it's just a handful of people. I did share that with my brother this morning, as well as the good wishes from a few of his friends. And, as I wrote, that he probably got tired of my brutal honesty at those breakfasts we used to do: Dude you look like shit.. That got a chuckle out of him.

We're both getting some miles on us.  Josh just turned 64 last  month, and I'll be 68 next month. One of the Doctors who looked in on him was a graduate of the class of 2012. That made us both feel like a couple of ancient relics.. Thinking of 50s slang, where your parents were referred to as fossils..

Music news. As far as bona fide news, things haven't moved an inch. Still working on that next rehearsal with the trio, which we put off due to the heat. I am playing every day though, still working on getting better. And taping a few things, some of which I post to my YouTube page and then forward to you guys on Facebook.

Well that's my news for you for the moment. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Friday to you! For now, I'm outa here. More later.,

PS today's pic was taken sometime in 1985, somewhere in Texas.  I was 31 years old. Not sure what happened to the Les Paul Goldtop. Probably horse-traded it for another guitar.
