Friday

Good morning! It's 9:08 and 30 degrees at the moment. I'm hearing the word snow a little more than I might like, but what the hell. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..

This has been quite a week here at Crain Manor. Home repairs, starting with the front porch. It's now level, and the latticework is back in place. There's a pretty good leak in the roof, but we found where it comes in.  Two strategically placed wastebaskets catch most of it. Worst case scenario was a couple days ago, when it rained nonstop. Somehow survived that, so...

My friends are planning on putting something in there to block it so I don't get everything Mother Nature dishes out. In the Spring, I'll be getting a whole new roof. For now, I've got it covered.

My dining room still has scaffolding and a big ladder, which pretty much takes over the whole room. The folks helping me thought we'd have to take all the plaster down from the ceiling. Not the case, fortunately, but I still have all this stuff in my dining room. Not too concerned with it myself, but I think all these changes have messed with my cat.

Cindy has  camped out in the living room. Somebody left their coat, which is spread over the sofa as her bed. She's just fine holding her ground in the middle of the house, all happy and purring away. But I can't get her to come upstairs. A skittishness sets in, and she heads back down to what I guess is her point of safety.

I'm figuring this will pass, especially after getting all this equipment out of the dining room. There has been a lot more hubbub around here than she's used to seeing. We don't ordinarily get people traipsing in and out. It's just taking her some more time getting back to normal.

The guitar has taken a back seat this week, but I'm back at it. I should have something or other to put up on YouTube sooner or later. And I'll be hitting it today.

So that's my news for the moment. Thanks as ever for stopping in and wading through it. Happy Friday to you, snow or no snow. I'm outa here., More later. PS I don't know when this cover photo was taken, but it was certainly in the dead of Winter.
