I almost wish I was still a drinking man. But it's just as well. If I were still a drinking man, I'd probably be drunker than I'd need to be right about now. And I'd probably be nursing a pretty good hangover tomorrow.
Vehicle problems. Specifically a bad cel battery. On paper, it was 3 and a half hours out of my day. A fair chunk, but still less than half the day. As far as the experience, it was an Eternity, driving out to the dealership in pouring rain and waiting around endlessly for the wheels to move.
And then driving home, again in pouring rain, only now with a new error message: the system has lost power. To re-engage, press the power button for more than two seconds. The cherry on top, as it were…
Okay, so I press the Start Engine button, which just starts the engine but doesn't fix the problem. All this in pouring rain, and lots of traffic. I'm still able to drive home, and I call back the tech at Landmark, who tells me it's actually the Audio/On button, which has more to do with the computer. This proves successful, and my dashboard is back in business.
Again, three and a half hours all told. Not much of a time expenditure, but a pretty good ass expenditure! I'm drained at the moment, and working on re-charging my own batteries. There's an annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner I'm expected to attend tomorrow, so I'll need to get back some sociability between now and then.
Looking forward to tomorrow's dinner and socializing with the folks at the table, and then- just as it's getting colder- a couple days of hibernation. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading this mess. Much love, and Happy Thanksgiving.
