Greetings, whoever-reads-this! A nice pleasant day in Samland. This is the backside of Crain Manor. Quite a bit of yard back here, as you can see. And this picture, as you can also see, didn't get all of it. I just got done giving it the first mow of the year, and I'm feelin' it! Not sore so much as just spent.
I'm on a 2-day roll as far as physical activity. Yesterday I dragged my bones over to the Fit Club, something I've been meaning to do for the longest time. Over a year, I'm sure. Got in the better part of an hour's worth of Cardio. Exercise is a good thing, especially when you hit 70. At this point, you do it to stay ambulatory. Hopefully I can stay on track this time, and keep going with the Cardio.
Music News. This is kind of a dormant period as far as musicmaking, but I do have a playing opportunity these days. Thursdays at 2pm with(so far)harmonica, guitar and drums. We've had one session so far, and are working on doing another one. Us three are in our late 60s and beyond, so failing health sometimes gets in the way, but we're still in there trying.
Otherwise, I'm still doing the thing here in the Music Lab. Practicing with Mean Mister Metronome- my castor oil scale and arpeggio studies, and then playing with various virtual rhythm sections ala playalong recordings.
Having some trouble with my digital camera as far as uploading music files to the computer. The camera goes blank once it's plugged in. Fortunately, as far as putting music videos up on my YouTube page, I've got a ton of them in my files- they grow like kudzu on my page. So I've got some backlog.
Boy have I got some backlog..
So as far as making music videos and being able to upload them, I may end up going with a new phone, one with more of the musicmaking bells and whistles. That seems to be where it's at these days. But I do like my funky little Canon Powershot. At least when it works…
Sooner or later I'll probably be working on a new album to share. In the meantime, as far as what I've already done, you can go here. Lots of stuff to listen to, some group projects and solo flights. Hope you find something you like in there.
