Greetings, whoever-reads-this! Another Monday in the books. Back in my working days, with a different website, I used to blog regularly- especially on a Monday, along with a Corona or several. Mondays at the Unemployment Office were invariably hectic and nerve-rattling. My blog title on those evenings was-pardon my French here- Another Fucking Monday.
After retiring, it took a little while for Monday to go back to just being another day of the week. Just about everybody I worked with, no matter how gung-ho they may have been toward their jobs, had that Dread of Monday. For most of us ,it would mar the horizon sometime around 4 on Sunday afternoon.
Music news. I'm in the process of resurrecting one of my guitars. It's an Ibanez Classical Electric(or Electric Classical, if you prefer). Couldn't find a picture of it to show. I took it to the Music Shoppe today to be re-strung. It may be a week or so, but I'll soon have it back safe and sound, and using it on some of my YouTube videos.
One challenge of maintaining a page like that is in keeping some variety in the content. The weird old guy in the tee shirt needs all the help he can get. So this Ibanez guitar of mine will give it a new color, a new timbre. I also want to get some recordings with other people.
I've been off the scene since last November. It was a gig at Boone's, with a pretty good crowd. The Arts Council stopped the Friday Night Jazz series shortly thereafter. Apparently they're spending more time and money on the Theatre stuff. So those built-in gigs like Boone's(nee Robbie's)and the Artist-on-the-Square things. I used to love playing solo guitar on the Square.
I've had to take time off for family and domestic stuff. Still dealing with the stuff.. Eventually, I'll get back and do a gig with somebody- maybe at The Pharmacy.
